From NRA-ILA:

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released a plan to guide management of the Patuxent Research Refuge for the next 15 years. The refuge is located in Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties and encompasses nearly 13,000 acres. The proposed plan offers two management alternatives in addition to how therRefuge is currently being managed. All three alternatives provide for hunting; however, Alternative B (Forest Restoration and Mixed Public Use) promotes higher quality hunting and fishing.

Public comments are being accepted up until Nov. 26 and can be e-mailed to northeastplanning@fws.gov. Please include “Patuxent RR Draft CCP” in the subject line of your comments. The draft plan is available on line by clicking here. For further information, you may call the refuge at 413-253-8688.

Please take a few minutes to send comments to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service supporting its efforts to protect and enhance hunting on this refuge. The refuge is located in an area with one of the highest densities of development in the United States. In other areas, development has driven out hunting so it is doubly important that hunting remain a valued public use of this refuge.
